Commonwealth Environment Research Facilities (CERF)
The environmental challenges facing Australia are as unique and varied as our natural environment. To make sure these challenges are addressed in a sustainable and innovative way, the Australian Government is investing $100 million into the Commonwealth Environment Research Facilities (CERF) program.

Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)
An international organisation that is working to make the world's biodiversity data accessible anywhere in the world; members include countries and international organisations who have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that they will share biodiversity data and contribute to the development of increasingly effective mechanisms for making those data available via the Internet.

Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS)
An evolving strategic alliance of people and organizations sharing a vision to make marine biogeographic data, from all over the world, freely available over the World Wide Web. OBIS provides, on an 'open access' basis through the World Wide Web: taxonomically and geographically resolved data on marine life and the ocean environment; interoperability with similar databases; software tools for data exploration and analysis.
